How to Sell on Vinted
Vinted is a secondhand clothing marketplace that charges sellers nothing. No listing fee, no commission — the buyer pays a mandatory Buyer Protection fee at checkout instead. It operates in the US at vinted.com, and US accounts currently sell to US buyers only.
That zero-fee model is the reason to use it, and it shapes how you should sell there. Here is the process from first listing to payout.
How the money works
You keep the price you sell for. The buyer pays your price, plus shipping, plus the Buyer Protection fee. None of that comes out of your side.
You are paid after the buyer is satisfied. When the item is marked delivered, the buyer has two days to report a problem. If they confirm the order or the window closes without an issue, the money moves to your Vinted balance, and from there you can withdraw it to your bank.
The trade-off is that the protection is built around the buyer, since the buyer pays for it. Your job as a seller is to make sure any complaint has nothing to stand on.
Step 1: Set up your profile
Add a photo, a short bio and your details, and verify what Vinted asks you to verify. Buyers check reviews before they buy from someone new, so your first few sales matter more than the rest — price them to move and ship them fast.
Step 2: Photograph for disputes, not just for clicks
On Vinted, photos are both the advert and the evidence.
- Natural light, plain background, the whole garment first.
- Close-ups of labels: brand, size and fabric composition.
- Every flaw, clearly — a pulled thread, a faint mark, wear on a cuff. A disclosed flaw cannot become a "not as described" claim.
- Worn or on a hanger for anything where fit and drape matter.
Step 3: Write the listing buyers search for
Put the brand, item type and size in the title. In the description, give measurements — pit to pit and length for tops, waist and inseam for pants — because size labels vary by brand and measurements answer the question that causes most returns.
Choose the condition category honestly. "Very good" on an item that is merely "good" is the most common way sellers lose a dispute.
Step 4: Price for a volume platform
Vinted buyers expect secondhand prices, and many send offers or bundle requests. Look at what the same brand and item have actually sold for, not what is listed, and price a little above your floor to leave room.

Step 5: Ship it properly
When an item sells, Vinted provides a prepaid shipping label. Pack it cleanly, ship within the time Vinted gives you, and photograph the item and the sealed package with the label visible before drop-off. If a buyer later claims something is wrong, those photos are your case.
Step 6: Handle issues calmly
If a buyer reports a problem inside the two-day window, the payment stays on hold while it is resolved. Respond in the Vinted conversation, not elsewhere, with your listing photos and dispatch photos. Keep every conversation on the platform; anything arranged off it is outside Vinted's protection for both of you.
What sells well on Vinted
Everyday wearable clothing in common sizes, mainstream and mid-range brands, kids' clothes, shoes in good condition, and bundles. It is a volume platform, and zero fees make low-priced items worth listing that would not be worth it on a platform taking 10 or 20 percent.
Where Vinted is not the right fit
Two things push sellers elsewhere. The first is price ceiling: the culture is tuned to bargains, which is ideal for clearing a closet and poor for items whose value has to be argued for.
